Director John Steppling and playwright Luis Reyes recorded a four-part radio drama about life in the high desert of California in association with students from CalArts School of Theater Sound Design program. Steppling is head of Gunfighter Nation, a Los-Angeles-based autonomous arts collective founded by himself and Lex Steppling and named after Richard Slotikin’s book on the American West. Their focus is aimed at rescuing events and places from the myth-making amnesia of America in its march forward.
